The traffic police has reserved one lane on roads leading upto the stadia and commonwealth games village for buses carrying athletes, officials and Ambulances! Earlier such reservation has not worked much
Delhi is crawling with tourists, on foot and bicycles, esp in and around Dillihaat and athletes, in big red buses whizzing to the games village from the airport, being ferried after arrival at Delhi...'s brand new International Airport T3!
It's exciting, esp when ur stuck in a jam, to see them being escorted by horn blaring police jeeps.
Blue colored cars and taxis are ferrying officials, to the stadia, perhaps for last minute arrangements.
New metro routes are being inaugurated, where even there were no roads, new hotels are suddenly coming up in areas which were just vast streteches of barren land.
Everything looks very urgent and efficient! 4 days to go...i think Delhi will be overwhlmed by the day of the opening ceremony. We realise now what it means to host such a big international sporting event.
Wonder what will happen if the Olympics ever come to Delhi!
